I can't get the chatbox to work at all, it leads to a 404 page error for some reason

Just try hitting the refresh button at the bottom (assuming that it too is showing up), otherwise you'd need to refresh the page.

Just tested it on Firefox with the same results. Can't edit on either too.

The only way around it is by turning off some stuff via Adblocker and when I do that, I run into that stupid popup. So I guess I'm screwed, for now...

sigh All I can suggest is use Chrome with Adblock like I do...

Ah. It's not there either. In fact none of the buttons are.

I was using Chrome with it earlier and running into the same issue :( Guess it's just overzealous? *shrug*

Just tested. Now I don't run into the 404 error page. The page loads fine. But the shout doesn't load at all. :(

New issue, Arry. I can't use the Private Messenger now. When I press send it leads to an XTML page and seems to not send the message.

It sounds as if there's not much I can use in regards to it, without turning Ad Block Plus off. Not worth the risk either. It seems as if this service WANTS you to be a paid period to such an extent, that it attaches everything from the smileys right down to the private messenger to the same javascript the ads run on. :(

Yeah, I knew there was going to be a limitation to the free-ness of the site.

However, I am surprised at how much trouble you are having. I run the site with ad-block fine - and even when I don't have it on the site isn't that bad :hmm:

Look, I'm not intending to invest a terrible amount of time (and don't intend to invest money at all) to fix some of the little issues with the site - especially since CoS doesn't look to be disappearing anytime soon. If the situation changes, I will review this stance.

    Ah.

Hmm. What settings do you have it on? Maybe that might be why I'm having a hassle in that regard. I might check java as well.

I don't expect as such, Arry. Glad it's still here.

I just have the EasyList enabled. I think I remember having this discussion before. It might be something with Java maybe.

Tried it again this time via Google. Still running into said issue.

    Page "http://hogsmeade.ucoz.com/?mcmessage=Testing.&numa=0&a=18&ajax=1" not found

    That's what shows up.

Will be checking Ad Block Plus and going from there.

This is a technical issue, but not with this site.

I know many of you are on Facebook. I am not, at least I have never joined Facebook, but someone using my email address has, and I keep getting messages from Facebook about people "friending" me or commenting on "my" photos. tt's extremely annoying.

I found out that the usurper is someone in Vietnam (all the messages are in Vietnamese, and the alternate email address has a "vn" suffix) and I have complained three times to Facebook, using the address they give for reporting abuse. I never got any answer and the messages keep coming.

I don't know what to do. Would the Facebook members among you have a suggestion, or could you help?

    Thanks!
