Here's a place to talk about your favorite books of the series! Or even rank them!

    Mine:

    1) Half Blood Prince
    2) Goblet of Fire
    3) Deathly Hallows
    4) Prisoner of Azkaban
    5) Order of the Phoenix
    6) Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone
    7) Chamber of Secrets

It's difficult to rank them, but there's something about Half Blood Prince that has already drawn me in. I think it's how it so perfectly blended the light hearted moments with the dark and gritty, all with the huge mysteries that festered in the background. Having written that sentence, it could apply to any of the series lol but I feel HBP does this the best.

It is very difficult to rank them, that's why I try not to. I love each one in their entirety, so how can I choose just one? I usually list PoA, HBP, and DH as my favorite which actually hasn't changed at all. It took me a few reads to truly appreciate DH. However, I wouldn't say that the other four are my least favorites, because they're really not. I love them just as much too, but I do look forward to the others when it comes time to read them. There hasn't ever been one thing that I've ever had a problem with in any of the books. :)

Really loved OOTP the most, since Umbridge was such a pain and it was nice to see her get put in her place. Loved DH as well. And HBP along with POA.

Personally, my favorite has always been PoA! It was the first HP book I ever read (after watching the first movie) and I really loved it! After that I'd say:
    HBP
    CoS
    GoF
    OotP
    DH
    PS/SS

I think each of the books are my favourites (or not) for various reasons. I can't rank for definite, as I think each individual tome stands alone in their own right. However, if I were to choose one, it would be "Prisoner of Azkaban", because it has my favourite character, Remus Lupin, whom I fell in love with right from the beginning, as I felt I could relate to him a lot. I was mad at JK Rowling for killing him off, but she did what she had to do.

Another favourite might be Chamber of Secrets, if only for the sentimental memory attached to it. I got my copy of CoS as a gift while holidaying in Germany (it was in English though, thankfully), and so it was my first exposure to the series, and soon I wanted PS/SS, as I had fallen in love with the Harry Potter series thanks to that book.

Oh this is such a hard decision! I think I'll probably have to say Deathly Hallows, mostly because I bawled like a baby throughout it. Though Half-Blood Prince is a very close follow. Other than that, I wouldn't know how to rank them, they're all just was too amazing.

I have always loved POA until HBP came out, I love the first chapter it is amazing and then DH came out, the first thing in the Malfoy manor I love then it gets a bit boring until they get captured by Grayback.

I used to have a ranking of the books despite loving all of them, but honestly now I can't do it. They all add something so important to the larger narrative: PS/SS introduces you generally to the wizarding world and the basics of "Voldemort = bad, Dumbledore = good, Harry = orphan"; CoS is where you see the first instances of blood supremacy that underlie just about all of the major conflicts in the series and (less significantly) is where "Voldemort" begins to morph into "Tom Riddle" -- an actual human character with a past rather than simply this terrifying, mysterious presence; PoA is where you begin to understand why Harry's parents died; GoF introduces Death Eaters and the start of the War; OotP introduces, well, the OotP as the counter to the Death Eaters and is the beginning of the conflict; HBP finalizes what CoS started to do by turning Tom Riddle into a legitimate character rather than a scary entity; DH wraps everything up. Take out any one of these books and the series crumbles. Can't bring myself to even say "Although they're all important, on a subjective level I simply like Book X less than the rest" because I truly do enjoy and appreciate all of them for what they are.

Therefore, I default to Break with a Banshee.

I think my favorite is HBP, but I always have such a hard time picking a favorite because each book has it's own special meaning and reasons to love it. Overall though, HBP was the one that took my breath away and made me weep for days. Yet again, so did DH...
