    		Discussion thread where people can talk about the good and bad of this infamous character, D. Umbridge, *cough* I mean Delores Umbridge.  Questions range from the serious to the not quite so serious.

    1) Has your view of Umbridge changed over the years? If how, why? If not, why?

    2) Do you think that she should have been chased for all eternity by the centaurs? biggrin

    3) What kind of animal should Mad-Eye Moody have turned her into?

    4) Why did she have such a hatred against those who weren't like her?

    5) Do you think that she would have ever become a DE?

    6) Why did Dumbledore hire her in the first place?

    7) Why did she take Mad-Eye's eye and mount it in her door?

    He didn't; nobody would take the job so the Ministry appointed someone. They gave themselves the authority to do so because Cornelius Fudge is a horse's ass.

    Umbridge.. no complexity to her, really, so I don't know that I have a ton to say. She is who she is and you can't forget her. All of her actions, words, and scenes speak for themselves and tell you everything you need to know about her.

    But what I will say is that Pomfrey's "Last year, dementors -- this year, dragons -- what are they going to bring into this school next?" in book four is one of the better quotes in the series.. dementor, dragons, and Dolores. A lovely trio of dreadful Ds.

    Uh, yeah, just realised that this has a straight forward answer. Maybe you were confused with Lockhart. Fawkesfan? Although his appointment was answered a little on Pottermore, iirc.
